Independent Youth Hostel, Cork, Irland
1991 was the year of Nirvana, with their legendary album Nevermind, Blur with Leisure, and St. Etienne with Foxbase Alpha. At that time I was staying for three months at a great youth hostel. Most of the occupants were Irish or British, unemployed or kicked out of their homes. At the beginning of the month when everyone got money from the dole, the party was on. It mostly lasted for one week. Then everyone was again broke and lived off pasta and potatoes. Paddy, who was searching around the globe for his mother, found her back in Cork.
